Zeynep Satık
Zeynep Satık is the founder and designer of Animate Objects, an Istanbul-based studio creating sculptural and collectible furniture
with a focus on narrative and theatrical form.
Satık graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, with a BA (Hons) in Performance Design and
Practice. In 2022, she founded Animate Objects, developing a design language where form, material, and storytelling meet. Her
limited-edition pieces approach objects as personas, balancing sculptural expression with functionality. Each piece is handcrafted
in Istanbul by skilled artisans.
Satık was selected for Dwell 24: The Best New Designers of the Year, while her debut collection was shortlisted for the
prestigious Créateurs Design Awards in Paris. Animate Objects was featured as a case study in Cosentino’s Shaping Tomorrow
trend report, appearing in the Wonder section, which highlights designers who challenge expectations and expand the emotional
possibilities of objects. The studio was also selected by Francq Colors for its international trend report.
Recent presentations include WOW!house in London, as part of Studio Duggan’s Speakeasy Salon, and KDR Gallery’s Florida
Room V: High Summer in Miami.
Satık has been featured internationally in Vogue, Architectural Digest, Dwell, Sight Unseen, ELLE Decoration, and Livingetc,
among other publications.
