An object acquires a presence of its own when form, material, scale and making come together—becoming more than the category it belongs to. ARKOBJECT is drawn to this territory, where a chair, a light, a mirror or a sculpture can be encountered as an object with an identity of its own.

ARKOBJECT is an Istanbul-based curatorial design gallery dedicated to collectible objects, limited editions and contemporary practices of making. Working across the fluid territory between design, art and craft, the gallery brings together works shaped by a strong conceptual language, sculptural presence and a considered relationship with material and process.

Here, material is more than a surface or means of construction. It carries knowledge, traces of making and the sensibility of its maker. Craft is approached not as a return to tradition, but as a living field of experimentation through which new forms and meanings can emerge.
