Marāu was founded in Istanbul by Dilara Tokatlıoğlu and Selen Türeli Batmaz, born from a desire to rediscover the centuries-old

stories, craftsmanship, and cultural memory of Anatolia through contemporary design.

Rather than reproducing the past, Marāu seeks to reinterpret it through a distinct contemporary language. Ancient civilizations,

mythology, architecture, and traditional ways of making become the starting points for its collections, while natural materials and

techniques passed down through generations of local artisans remain integral to the creative process.
